Special rates for different social groups at the UPV/EHU Summer Courses
Under 25s can sign up for just €25 per course if they enrol before 31 May.
The offering of the UPV/EHU Summer Courses has something for people from a wide variety of backgrounds. The Summer Courses are the meeting point for all social agents and the general public; the price policy of the UPV/EHU Summer Course Foundation (UIK) takes the characteristics of different groups into account in order to ensure the access to knowledge is available for everyone.
Help for different groups
In the same way as for young people, UIK has special terms for different groups, including students in formal training; job seekers registered with Lanbide and the SEPE; old age pensioners; former pupils of the UPV/EHU in the ehualumni network; large families in the general category; UPV/EHU research and teaching staff, administration and services staff, and partners of the work experience programmes. Anybody belonging to these groups will get a 15% discount on the enrolment fee.
There is a higher discount (30%) for the most vulnerable groups. They include large families in the special category; people with disability equal to or over 33%; people with a family member with disability equal to or over 65% (registered at the same address); victims of terrorism (their spouses, offspring and fosters); and victims of gender violence.
Special programmes for training professionals
The Basque Government and the Government Navarra run together the special "Learn to Teach" programme for education professionals. The beneficiaries are entitled to a 15% discount when enrolling. Thanks to the partnership between UIK and the Basque Government's Health Ministry and Osakidetza [Basque Health System], the professionals of the Basque public health system will get a 75% discount on the enrolment fee.
There are special rates for certain courses for members of the Basque Professional Association of Psychologists and the Basque-Navarra Professional Association of Architects.
Incentives to promote the Basque language and culture
In keeping with UIK's commitment to the Basque Language and culture, there is a special enrolment rate for courses taught in Basque and those related to the culture. There are special discounts for the teachers and students of the euskaltegis [centres for learning the Basque language] or official self-learning centres, the partners of the Basque Country's cultural centres and libraries, and members of Donostia Kultura and of elkar Taldea. They can get a 15% discount when enrolling for certain UPV/EHU Summer Courses.
