The period for receiving proposals for Cross-Border Summer Courses 2024 is now open
After two editions, the Cross-Border Summer Courses return, targeting cross-border citizens and aiming to highlight the proactive role of universities in creating a more economically, socially, and territorially cohesive cross-border space, as achieved previously in other European cross-border areas.
In the second edition, 1,215 individuals from countries such as Germany, Algeria, Argentina, Chile, China, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Romania, and Uruguay participated. Additionally, there were twelve training proposals featuring conferences delivered by 132 experts from Spain, France, the Netherlands, Peru, and Argentina.
In 2024, the program will focus on the week of July 15th to July 21st at the Cité des Arts in Bayonne, the same location as the first two editions, reinforcing the spirit of these courses.
The proposals must involve at least two institutions or public/private entities from different cross-border regions, two of which must belong to different states.
As a novelty, the call will consider the option to submit expressions of interest to connect with cross-border partners for the execution of Cross-Border Summer Courses. To facilitate this, the call will include a section for expressions of interest to recruit participants for the Summer Course. In this section, proposers and their institutional affiliations, the course's theme, and a summary of objectives must be specified.
The thematic focus can encompass any social or scientific topics but must incorporate a cross-border perspective as a fundamental element. It's important to note that sessions may target the general public, academics, students, and professionals alike, and particular emphasis will be placed on engaging younger audiences.
The call will remain open for 8 weeks, allowing proposals to be submitted from December 11th, 2023, to January 26th, 2024.
